Vice President, Consulting Services
The VP, Consulting Services, will play a critical role in Clearwater’s growth by driving customer consulting engagements and increasing revenue. The VP, Consulting Services will lead a team of Clearwater consultants and will be responsible for ensuring engagements are performed at the highest level of quality while creating maximum value for customers. Equally important, the VP, Consulting Services, will be responsible for developing and cultivating new sales opportunities and creating, enhancing, and optimizing consulting services and managed services solutions.
More specifically, the VP of Consulting Services will develop and deliver thought leadership. The VP, Consulting Services, will support sales as a subject matter expert, developing proposals and statements of work. The VP, Consulting Services, will act as an executive sponsor to key customer accounts and identify and pursue expansion opportunities at existing customer accounts. The VP, Consulting Services, will perform billable work. The VP, Consulting Services will have the opportunity to continue to grow his or her team based on demonstrated success in developing consultants’ skills, achieving utilization and budget objectives, and increasing revenue.
The Vice President, Consulting Services must be a technical expert in cybersecurity, cyber risk management, experienced in program management, and have a strong desire and aptitude in business development. She/he must have experience in the healthcare industry and understand the HIPAA Security Rule. He/she must be skilled and experienced at engaging in high-level strategic discussions with healthcare executives and other stakeholders and must have experience in building and managing high-performing teams. Additionally, the Vice President, Consulting Services must understand, utilize, and remain current with industry best practices, the healthcare industry, the regulatory environment, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape.
The Vice President, Consulting Services should have previous experience in a consulting role where she/he has demonstrated success in developing new business, fostering and managing relationships at key customer accounts, and successfully delivering consulting services engagements within healthcare organizations. The individual must possess a knack for recognizing additional needs and opportunities and success in expanding business. He/she must possess both the management and “soft” skills required to lead and manage a portfolio of large, complex engagements.
The Vice President, Consulting Services must be able to draw on his/her knowledge and experience to provide technical expertise in support of sales and marketing efforts of the Company. The Vice President must be a self-starter who can work independently, seek out and leverage internal resources where needed, proactively take ownership of key projects, and drive teams to achieve success.
Senior Principal Consultant – Technical Security Testing and Remediation
The Senior Principal Consultant – Technical Security Testing and Remediation is responsible for leading Clearwater’s rapidly growing Technical Testing Services Practice. In this role, the individual contributes to the Company’s growth objectives by developing, refining, and executing technical testing consulting and managed services engagements.
The Senior Principal Consultant – Technical Security Testing and Remediation serves in a “Player-Coach” role while managing a portfolio of consulting projects. She/he leverages resources on his/her team to execute these services on time and budget while delivering the highest level of quality and providing actionable insights to customers that drive tangible improvements to their cybersecurity postures. In addition to his/her role as team leader, the Senior Principal Consultant – Technical Security Testing and Remediation personally delivers technical testing services.
The Senior Principal Consultant – Technical Security Testing and Remediation actively develops strategies to be more competitive and devises and executes tactics to support business development efforts. He/she will engage in thought leadership, support the sales team as a subject matter expert and executive sponsor, contribute to the writing of proposals and statements of work, and assists the sales team in identifying and pursuing expansion opportunities at existing customer accounts.
The Senior Principal Consultant – Technical Security Testing and Remediation must be a technical expert in cybersecurity testing services, with previous experience performing these services and leading a team. He/she must be skilled and experienced in scoping projects and creating project cost estimates. Additionally, this individual must be current with relevant technologies and industry best practices and know the competitive landscape.
The Senior Principal Consultant – Technical Security Testing must have experience managing a portfolio of projects according to budget and deliverables. He/she must be able to draw on his/her knowledge and experience to provide technical expertise in support of the sales and marketing efforts of the Company.
Consultant – Technical Security Testing
The Consultant - Technical Security Testing is a member of Clearwater’s rapidly growing technical testing team and is responsible for delivering various technical testing consulting services for Clearwater Customers. These services include vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, web application penetration testing, wireless LAN Assessments, network architecture assessments, network and security device configuration assessments, phishing and other social engineering campaigns, device or system hardening (i.e., STIG, CIS), and others.
The Consultant - Technical Security Testing also contributes to the Company’s growth by supporting the Clearwater sales team in scoping engagements.
The Consultant – Technical Security Testing is expected to continue developing his/her mastery of technical testing tools and processes, developing new skills, and growing professionally at Clearwater. The Consultant – Technical Security Testing is expected to take on new responsibilities over time.
The Consultant - Technical Security Testing should have previous experience performing vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT) and web application penetration testing, preferably in the healthcare space. Through previous experience, he/she must demonstrate analytic and problem-solving skills, especially with technical security analysis and customer reporting. The individual must have experience with relevant technologies to perform the job functions.
The Cybersecurity & Cyber Risk Principal Consultant leads and executes Clearwater consulting engagements and managed services and plays a key role in contributing to the Company’s rapid growth. The Principal Consult engages in thought leadership, new solution development and continuously builds his/her expertise in relevant domains to Clearwater’s solutions. The Principal Consultant develops his/her mastery of healthcare cybersecurity, cyber risk management, and compliance while exploring emerging healthcare industry issues, technologies, and opportunities.
The Principal Consultant spends the majority of her/his time working directly with Customers. He/she leverages his/her experience to drive customer success and to identify additional ways that Clearwater can provide value. The Principal Consultant travels to Customer locations as needed, with an expectation of 50% - 60% once business travel fully returns post-COVID.
The Principal Consultant is a key advisor and expert to Clearwater customers and represents the high standards of quality and excellence for which Clearwater is known. Through the delivery of robust and proactive cybersecurity, risk analysis, and risk response solutions, the Principal Consultant enables Customers to improve patient safety, safeguard sensitive health information, and protect their corporate capital and reputation.
The Principal Consultant will have experience in cybersecurity, information risk management, or both domains, preferably with direct experience working in the healthcare industry or industries using the same standards and processes that Clearwater uses to perform its engagements. The Principal Consultant must have prior experience in consulting, managing teams, or having cybersecurity or privacy leadership role in a healthcare organization.
In addition to technical cybersecurity experience and skills, the Principal Consultant must have demonstrated through experience that she/he has the required soft skills required to drive engagement with Customers. She/he must have experience successfully managing projects, meeting deadlines, and achieving high levels of quality based on standards. The Principal Consultant must have experience working on and leading teams, analyzing data, writing professional technical reports, and developing and delivering presentations to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
The Consultant will be responsible for supporting the professional services team in delivering cyber security risk management services, solutions and tools to Clearwater customers. This position requires initiative to read, study, ask questions and learn Clearwater’s solution and service offerings, sales process, marketing materials, contract and SOW structure, methodologies, delivery standards, work tools and processes. The Consultant must rapidly embrace and become a subject matter expert and customer ambassador for Clearwater’s IRM|Pro® Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) suite.
The candidate must be knowledgeable and have relevant experience performing NIST-based Information Systems risk analyses, HIPAA Privacy, Security and Breach Notification Rule compliance evaluations and possess technical training, project management training, and certifications such as CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CISM, HCISPP, CIPP, CHPS, etc. The Consultant should have excellent analytic and problem-solving skills in the information systems, security and/or privacy space. Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills in a customer setting is necessary.
This position requires the ability to study and learn new subject matter and context quickly including the HIPAA regulations, enforcement and OCR audit protocols, as well as the NIST Information Risk Management framework processes. Significant interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, customers, partners, subcontractors and potential investors is necessary.
Clearwater Consultants must have strong customer service orientation and the ability to work independently on a variety of projects simultaneously, exercise good judgement and possess initiative to manage priorities.

- Ability to travel for the purposes of delivering customer engagements 50 – 60% of the time;
- Digest SOWs, prior customer proposals, project notes, deliverables, and final reports; assimilate prior experience, relevant subject matter, data, facts, and results; and develop relevant questions of colleagues so as to hasten understanding scenarios, methodologies, processes, and “lessons learned”;
- Study, earn and retain relevant additional professional certifications. Network with other professionals, participate in relevant professional organizations and events;
- Author blogs, create and deliver team and/or Customer educational presentations, and; Develop trusting relationships with a variety of healthcare compliance and information system professionals.
