Overview

Telehealth and Mobile Health (mHealth) are two of the fastest growing technologies in healthcare. These technologies deliver real time communication between patients and providers for the sake of monitoring, treatment, and education. Yet, these technologies are on a cybersecurity collision course called Patient Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).  The proliferation of Patient BYOD is unavoidable as patients become  comfortable using their smartphones, laptops, tablets, and wearable devices as part of their interaction with healthcare providers. However, Patient BYOD compounds the already complex problems organizations face while navigating the ever-changing demands of mHealth and Telehealth cybersecurity and risk management. This presentation discusses the challenges faced by healthcare organizations and offers solutions designed to meet these complex problems more effectively.
